Are you Biblically literate? This is a question most church members shrug off with an “of course!” However, the general knowledge of the Scripture is typically flawed, incomplete, or even lazy. If I asked you to sum up the story of the Bible in one or two sentences, would it be a shallow, “God loves mankind” or some other trite phrase? Would it instead represent the high points of Scripture from the Old and New Covenants? Would it include much of the Old Testament or skip the majority of the Bible to go straight to the gospels? Biblical illiteracy is rampant, because Christians, the people of the book, do not know the Bible either. Come join our class– “Bible Basics 101.” We will be covering the structure of the Bible, importance of genres, interpretation styles and more!
