Here at CGBC, we want to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19 by following federal guidelines on social distancing and limiting public gatherings. Therefore, starting Sunday March 22nd, church services will be as follows:
- Sunday School – 9:30am: Will be held virtually via Zoom meetings
- Worship service – 10:30am: Will be livestreamed on our Facebook page
- Wednesday Evening – 6:30pm: Will be held virtually via Zoom meetings
(Please follow us on Facebook to get access to the Zoom meeting links each week.)
This decision did not come easily. However, as believers who follow God's Word, we must also follow the ones, that at times, might seem more difficult.
“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.” (Romans 13:1-2 NIV)
There will be limited staff at church on Sunday mornings; however, we ask that if you are showing symptoms of COVID-19 to say at home. Also, if you are one with underlying health conditions or fall into to the “elderly” category, we ask you stay at home as well and watch the livestream service.
During this unprecedented time in our world’s history, it’s easy to be overcome by what we hear and see going on around us. We must continue to pray and remember that our Mighty God is still in control and there is “nothing new under the sun” to Him (Ecclesiastes 1:9).
God, we praise You for being the same today as You were yesterday and will be tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8). Father in Your Mercy, we ask you stop the spread of this global virus and bring healing to those affected. God, we ask You for protection to keep us safe and to protect those in the healthcare field that are at the front lines tending to those that have been infective with COVID-19. In Jesus name – Amen.
